New Government Industrial Policies in Jordan - Since May2012
Since May2012, to 2015 the Jordanian government policies closed nearly 1500 factories and displaced many industrial investors to other bordering countries. (Reference1).Related to Al-Rai newspaper of Jordan, the Jordanian government's economic policies, which have led to many important economic sectors, notably the industrial sector, have caused the end of some 1600 factories, the suspension of many production lines and the displacement of many industrial investors to near countries, which made the investors of these factories unable to continue, As well as weak protection imposed by the government to protect the national industry, as well as signing trade agreements that are not in the interest of the national industry. Within this environment, on May2012, (Jordan Aerospace Industries-JAI) faced hard shock from the Jordanian Civil Aviation Regulatory Commissions - CARC, because of the Jordanian Aviation Law was changed to follow the European law, instead of the US aviation Law, in May 2012 CARC tacked action to freeze the aircraft certificates of production of JAI at QAIA queen alia international airport. JAI certificates based on The Federal Aviation Administration - FAA CH2000/CH2000A aircraft Certificates. JAI be certain of that, (CARC) are responsible for all damages Caused to the Jordan Aerospace Industries. (JAI) lost at least 100 million US dollars because of the Jordanian Aviation Law changing by (CARC). (Reference3) (Reference2).
We have met officials in Jordan (Government representatives), for the purpose of making the right decision with them, and we already exchanging our views with them. They told us, that the future of our industrial work in Jordan has reached the top, as an aircraft manufacturing, in comparison with what can be implemented in Jordan, and that the aircraft industry will not develop over what we reached as a level in Jordan because of the inability to invest the intellectual property because there is no specific plan for the aircraft industry inside the labor law of Jordan. also, there is lack on the security environment inside the main airport QAIA because of the private management of the airport, so that our factory location inside the main airport (Queen Alia International), has been subjected to frequent steal (look like organized crime). which is shocked our trust in the security environment, and how can we protect our industrial facilities and our technical laboratories in the future, due to the absence of a deterrence. so, the stealing will continue. As they told us that we are after the great success we did within our industrial experience in Jordan and four other Arabian countries, we are qualified to market our expertise in the GCC market, and that it's time our departure to the rich countries which can lift our consortium to the global.
In view of the importance of the JAI project and its specificities, it was granted royal patronage and was personally opened by His Majesty the King of Jordan (Ref. 4). Therefore, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Jordanian Aerospace industries - JAI, decided that the JAI company will accept the great financial and moral losses that we have been subjected to, from several quarters in Jordan with even if it is with intent or unintentionally, which amounted to 100 million US dollars.
Our great Respect and appreciation for the efforts of His Majesty the King of Jordan for his support with us in everything he can, and it is necessary to maintain mutually image of success was JAI achieved. We found that the most feasible step on the ground was the transfer of industrial technologies from Jordan to an appropriate country within the GCC and Canada. the continuation of JAI in its work from there, and the conversion of JAI's industrial facilities to an aircraft assembly center to be manufacturing within Europe and Canada and the flight training will be in Jordan. The working environment in Jordan are specially for services.
